When Joy* was just 10 years old, a trusted neighbour tricked and trafficked her, abusing her and sharing the abuse online for people around the world to watch.
After years of exploitation, IJM’s team worked with Philippine law enforcement to arrest the trafficker and bring Joy and 15 more children to safety. In the aftercare home, Joy found the care and support she needed to heal.
Inspired by the social workers who supported her, Joy has recently completed a university degree in Social Work.
